"When I think of the meaning of leadership, integrity, high standards and moral character, the first person I think of is JP Staggs. I am not sure I know of a single other person that exemplifies all these qualities more than she does. She is an outstanding leader, excellent motivator, cheerleader, and is tremendously hard working. She leads by example! JP is extremely active and is a very well respected member of her community. She is a member of her local community club, Rotary, and is very active with her church community in addition to owning and running her own marketing/media company.

JP is Tennessee Friends of NRA. In addition to her role as Chairman of Crockett Friends of NRA, JP handles all of the marketing and flyer assistance for every Tennessee Friends of NRA committee. She handled over 250 flyers for the committees in Tennessee in 2023 alone. Her help with all of the event, raffle, and special needs flyers has been an invaluable asset to the success of Tennessee Friends of NRA. JP also does flyers for other Field Reps in the Southern Region as needed. If they need something with a WOW factor, they call JP and she never fails to deliver. JP also attended and helped work several other events throughout Tennessee in 2023. In fact, there were two occasions that if she had not gathered her committee to attend and help, these events we would have had a hard time pulling the manpower to pull them off. JP does not know the words 'no' or 'can't'! She is a doer, and is there anytime I or Tennessee Friends of NRA needs her. Last year to promote the event and sell pre-event raffle tickets, JP attended 8 different festivals (including 10 straight days at the area fair), several community club meetings, and many other civic organizational meetings.

JP Staggs is what all Field Reps dream of when coming up with the ultimate volunteer. She exemplifies what Friends of NRA is and should be all about. She is a selfless individual who leads by example and is a tireless, hard worker. She is a very valuable asset to Tennessee Friends of NRA, and I am so lucky to have her on my team. She had every right and excuse to not host an event in 2023 as her 1 year old son was diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing chemo treatments. Her event is usually in March and she knew that her son would be in Chemo until April. She asked me if we could postpone the event until June as she would not have the time or energy to put what she wanted to into the event. (See the individual achievements above to see all that she does and continues to do). Most would have either passed it on to someone else on the committee or canceled the event altogether, but not JP. She is as dedicated a volunteer as I have ever seen in my 21+ years in and around this program. If there was ever anybody that deserved to be a Volunteer of the Year, I would have to say it would be JP Staggs."
