"The 2023 Smoky Mountain Friends of NRA event was the largest banquet they had ever had. With over 500 people in attendance, they raised over $20,000 more than their last record. Daniel pulled together a group of volunteers from 5 or 6 different counties and had over 30 volunteers that night. With the high attendance, there was a lot of energy in the room. Daniel had new ideas that we tried at the event, including a Gatling Gun Raffle. Not only is Daniel an incredible chairman, but he also cooks an incredible prime rib which was served at the event.
Altogether, Daniel keeps all of the parts moving smoothly and is always looking to make improvements to help the program grow. He attends the State Fund Meeting and Volunteer Workshop each year. Since he's been doing this for 20 years, he knows the community well and does a great job filling the room for the event. He was part of the start up committee at an early age and has never lost sight of what the program is about and what its goals are."
