Ricky Proffit
Guilford County Friends of NRA
Committee Chair | 10 Years of Service

- Selected as 2021 Regional Volunteer of the Year -

Individual Activities:
  • Sold 432 banquet tickets

"Ricky is responsible for a majority of the table and tickets sales on the three events held in Guilford and Alamance Counties. The four events he worked on in 2021 raised a combined net of $115,008 dollars and Ricky can take credit for a large amount of that in table sales, ticket sales, and pre-event raffle sales.

Ricky is highly respected among the volunteers of Western North Carolina and the other Field Representatives that have met him. His knowledge and leadership is recognized and appreciated by other volunteers, and many of them ask his advice for upcoming banquets.

Since North Carolina was under severe COVID-19 restrictions in early 2021, we were unable to have a full capacity banquet in Greensboro. At the time, the facility was only hosting events at half capacity, so Ricky did two separate banquets in the same facility one month apart. Likewise, when a neighboring county did not have a facility available, he put together another event, Rockingham County Friends of NRA, to help make the Westerns North Carolina event goals. Ricky is also the chairman in Alamance County which has a September banquet. Altogether, Ricky helped lead four different banquets in 2021. In addition to leading those banquets, Ricky is key to helping the the Triad Friends of NRA banquet be successful as he sold many tables and tickets for the event.

Ricky is always willing to help where needed and has attended several committee meetings in WNC to instruct them on how to sell more tables and increase their attendance and net dollars. He is a dedicated volunteer to the Friends of NRA program. Likewise he attends MANY banquets in North Carolina and Virginia, and supports all of those events with dollars spent on tickets and purchases."
